Fake Siri availabe for Android!!

There are several applications that allows you to fake siri messages and fake Siri conversations without needing any Apple iPhone 4S. Best Siri alternatives were already posted by Grabi in the form of a post published a few weeks ago, as “top 6 best Siri alternatives for Android devices“. Today we will talk about this Fake Siri app which is now available in the Android Market. Details after the break!

What do you mean by Fake Siri app? That means, which having the similar functionality than the original one. When we go to the past, this has lead to a number of fake apps appearinng on the Android Market, thinking why, Google doesn’t check apps that appear on its Market. The latest comes in the form of Siri for Android app, which is a fake application.

We can see that the app was published by a developer called “Official App”, this will be an attempt to make people fool telling them as, it is an official app, and the developer also has another app called  Pinterest, which obviously isn’t from the Pinterest team.

This Siri Android app uses Google Voice, and according to the Next Web this fake application has already been downloaded by Androud users over 100o times, which shows in the Market.
On Wednesday, “Siri for Android” by app publisher “Official App” hit the Android Market, launching on the Google marketplace to deliver what many are going to believe is an official port of Apple’s Siri software to Android smartphones. In reality, it’s a shortcut that launches Google’s built-in Voice Actions — and it’s already been installed on more than 1000 devices.
The app developer doesn’t hide the fact that Siri for Android a simple app launcher in its Android Market description, stating:
Siri, now for your Android device!
This application is a Siri icon that opens “Google’s Voice Actions” app.

You too can grab this Fake Siri app right now from the Android Market, but careful, which may have malware, spyware, etc. Warning! or take it like a Caution.

How To Setup A Spire Siri Proxy

To Setup Siri Proxy on Linux:

To Setup Siri Proxy on Windows:

To Unblock Your Banned iPhone 4S Keys:
- Disable Siri
- Shutdown iPhone 4S
- Power ON iPhone 4S
- Enable Siri and make a Request to Real Apple Server (not over SiriProxy)

Spire- Legal Siri Jailbreak Tweak released

It is finally here! And no its not i4Siri. A new Cydia tweak has been released by Ryan Petrich and chpwn through which users can install Siri on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1. The new Siri port is legal and has been named as Spire. This port has been deemed as stable when installing Siri on older iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad models unlike H1Siri, which is illegal to use and came with bugs.

Siri On iPhone 4

The port is compatible with the following devices:
- iPhone 4G
- iPhone 3GS
- iPod Touch 4G
- iPod Touch 3G
- iPad 1

The iPod touch doesn’t have a high quality Siri performance due to the quality of it’s microphone. The Cydia tweak would work on the above mentioned devices but it will also require an iPhone 4S. This is because users need to have a SiriProxy Fork, where they use an iPhone 4S to set up a proxy and insert the required information easily. This is necessary because Apple still requires authorization to use Siri.
The developers have recommended to use a Wi-Fi network rather than a standard cellular network for downloading the file which is approximately 100 MB in size as mentioned in a blog post from Chpwn. The latest Siri port is available for free at the Cydia Store.

Chwpn stated that Spire uses a new method to obtain the files necessary for Siri, so it doesn’t have the copyright issues encountered by previous attempts. Chpwn also explained the issue why users have to still gain authorization through their own server and an iPhone 4S with any such port:
However, Spire is not a complete solution. Apple still requires authorization to use Siri, so information from an iPhone 4S is still required. To insert this information, Spire allows you to enter your own proxy server address. By using this (ancient) SiriProxy fork, you can setup a proxy using your own iPhone 4S to insert the needed information reasonably easily. Other solutions for proxying Siri will be listed here as they are developed — perhaps that sort of proxy might be included in the main SiriProxy repository.
Steve Troughton-Smith quoted that this is the best Siri port until the iPhone 4S is jailbroken, and when that that happens, the proxy server issues can be avoided.
To get a Siri proxy, chpwn explains:
  • westbaer’s SiriProxy fork
    • Own an iPhone 4S too: Maybe you already own an iPhone 4S, and just want Siri on another device of yours. This is simple; you can just use the above proxy yourself.
    • Find a friend: Maybe your friend has an iPhone 4S and will let you use their authentication tokens (maybe in exchange for some cool SiriProxy plugins). Then, you can share the authentication. Or, maybe you gave your relative your old iPhone when you got your iPhone 4S: now you can share your token and give them Siri.
  • Pay up: It’s very likely that soon we will see for-pay services online to rent you some space on a Siri proxy, attached to one of their iPhone 4S devices. I haven’t seen anything like this yet, but I’ll keep my eye out, and I would encourage anyone who is interested to set something like this up.
  • And now for something completely different: As I suggested earlier, you might be able to replace Siri entirely. A simple method might be to use Google Chrome’s speech “API” hooked up to some code to decode the Siri requests and parse Google’s result. Or, someone could hook it up to some logic backends like many of the clones available on Android: the possibilities are endless.
Users who are on jailbroken iOS 5 devices can download Spire directly from Cydia on BigBoss repository.

vWallpaper 2 released!!

vWallpaper 2 has been recently update with iOS 5 support to bring animated video wallpapers on the new software. The first vWallpaper version existed on iPhone 2.0 firmware but hasn’t been updated for newer iOS version until today. The nice thing about vWallpaper 2 is that it’s free!

Without this new tweak, you can’t get an animated wallpaper on your homescreen. Only static images set as a wallpaper. With vWallpaper 2, you can add videos, cool 3D effects, HTML widgets and more.
In order to get the tweak , you have to add its Cydia repository by navigating to the Manage, Sources, Edit, Add and write down this repo:
You may need a to be on Wi-Fi since the tweak weighs 31.3MB.

Corona 1.0.2 Released

If I am not wrong, majority of you, if not all must have spent the last 24 hours jailbreaking your A4 devices which were released last night. If you have been following our posts, we informed you how to jailbreak untethered using Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 and the Corona 5.0.1 untether tool. However, we heard a few reports from users facing difficulties with the new untetheres. Some users were getting “Launchtl” error when trying to jailbreak their iOS devices.

One of the errors that we heard was a “launchtl” error. That’s why Saurik has already launched an update to fix this untether. The problems and updates were explained by him from his Twitter account:
Those who are having these issues might want to get this update. To get the new Corona version 1.0-3, simply open Cydia and select Changes tab.
Moreover, the iPhone Dev Team earlier today pushed a new update known as Redsn0w 0.9.9b2 which fixes the same issue, i.e. “launchtl” error. You can download Redsn0w 0.9.9b2 for Windows from here or for Mac OS X from here.

From the Dev Team blog:
The b2 version of redsn0w includes the launchctl-related fix by @planetbeing as mentioned by @saurik here and here.  As usual, you can just re-run redsn0w in jailbreak mode over your existing 5.0.1 jailbreak (even a PwnageTool one), making sure to de-select “Install Cydia” if you do.  Always be sure to do a controlled “slide to power off” shutdown of your device before running redsn0w.

Get Cydia 1.1.3 Now!!

Yesterday was a big day in the jailbreak community since the much waited untethered jailbreak has been released thanks to pod2g’s exploit shown few weeks ago. The jailbreak works on all A4 devices and with the help of iPhone Dev Team’s redsn0w 0.9.10b1, you were able to get your hands on iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak.

Cydia 1.1.3

However, some people used Corona 5.0.1 Untether to directly jailbreak their devices without need to run redsn0w 0.9.10b1. If you’re one of those then you most probably didn’t get the new Cydia 1.1.3 minor update.
To clarify more, the released version of redsn0w 0.9.10b1 released yesterday hides a new version of Cydia known as 1.1.3 as you can see from the screenshot above.
For those who didn’t use redsn0w 0.9.10b1 or those who are still on previous iOS version like iOS 4, you will need to follow this guide to be able to get it right now. You’ll need a jailbroken device and iFile installed on it.

How To Download Cydia 1.1.3

STEP 1: First of, you need to open this guide directly from your iPhone, this guide can’t be done from your computer.

STEP 2: Once you’re one iPhone, download Cydia 1.1.3 from here.

STEP 3: Now you’ll be directed to a new Safari page, select “Open in iFile”.

STEP 4: Now tap on it and hit “Installer” so that iFile starts installing it.

STEP 5: It will take less than 5 minutes to be installed, once done you’ll see the new version in the bottom of your Cydia.

How To Create Custom iOS 5.0.1 IPSW With PwnageTool 5.0.1

The jailbreakers are going crazy, earlier today we have posted about how to jailbreak your A4 iOS device running iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak using Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 and Cornona 5.0.1 Untehter tweak. Now, we just came to know that iPhone Dev Team has released PwnageTool 5.0.1 to give another option for jailbreaking iOS 5.0.1 untethered with more options.

The PwnageTool allows users to create a custom IPSW which gives them the ability to upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 and keep their unlock. Users can also configure ipsw with boot logos and Cydia packages depending on their device. PwnageTool allows you to create a custom firmware for iOS 5.0.1 to preserve your iPhone baseband so that you can unlock your iPhone using latest ultrasn0w version.

How To Create Custom iOS 5.0.1 IPSW With PwnageTool 5.0.1

STEP 1: Download iOS 5.0.1 IPSW firmware for your iOS device.

STEP 2: Download PwnageTool 5.0.1 for Mac OS X (for Windows users, wait for Sn0wbreeze) from this torrent link.

STEP 3: Start PwnageTool 5.0.1 in Expert Mode then select your device as shown:

STEP 4: Hit the “Browse” button and select the iOS 5.0.1 firmware you downloaded from step 1.

STEP 5: Select “Build” so that PwnageTool can start building your custom firmware.

STEP 6: Wait for about 1o minutes till PwnageTool cooks your custom IPSW firmware which will be jailbroken.

STEP 7: Finally, you’ll need to put your device in DFU mode by following the on-screen instructions.

How To Restore iOS 5.0.1 Custom Firmware With iTunes

STEP 8: Now download the latest iTunes version from here then click on your iPhone icon from the sidebar in iTunes and press and hold left “alt” (option) button on Mac, or Left “Shift” button on Windows then click on “Restore” and select the custom firmware that PwnageTool previously created.

Jailbreak 5.0.1 Untethered iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad 1

After showing the first method to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 untethered using a jailbreak tweak from Cydia, now we’re showing how to do an iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak directly from your PC or Mac using Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 brought to you by the iPhone Dev Team.

Jailbreak 5.0.1 untethered

iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Supported Devices

  • iPhone 4 (GSM – CDMA)
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPod touch 4G
  • iPod touch 3G
  • iPad 1

  • If you have one of those devices and are not on 5.0.1 yet, update now!  The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1  If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW!    Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.
  • If you’re already at 5.0.1 with a tethered jailbreak, you have two choices: either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak (deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that), or install the Cydia package prepared by the chronic devteam.  The patches are the same regardless of which you choose.
  • Some of you are using a hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration.  If so, do not attempt to install this untether over that setup!  You will most likely get into a reboot cycle.  Do a sync and fresh restore to 5.0.1 then install the jailbreak + untether.

Pod2g Posts iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Video

These days, almost everyday something new happens. Couple of weeks ago, pod2g surprised the whole jailbreak community by his untethered jailbreak exploit which worked on iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1. Pod2g first showed his untethered jailbreak exploit on iPod touch running iOS 5. Some people thought that his jailbreak will only work on old iPods, that’s why pod2g updated his blog today.

5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak iPhone 4

After numerous number of donations, pod2g was able to get his hands on an iPhone 4S to try his exploit on it. Pod2g has already tried his jailbreak initially on the A5 iPhone 4S device. He first got some problems but he could fix it later. Pod2g is currently hard trying to get his jailbreak working on iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
Today pod2g updated his blog with a new video showing iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak. He showed that video teaser for everyone who thought his jailbreak is not working or it would work on old devices only.
Pod2g also mentioned that his jailbreak is “near ready for prime time” but not for iPad 2 or iPhone 4S. He mentioned that the wait is almost over as you’ll only need to wait some more days.

The video is considered to be good news for all iPhone 4 users who’re patiently waiting for untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1. It’s now hard time for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users since they even don’t have a tethered jailbreak.
As usual, don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter related to jailbreak news. We’ll make sure to deliver the news once it’s here. It’s matter of days!

iPad 3 To Launch In 3 Or 4 Months

We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors about the iPad 3 recently. Just a couple of days ago, a rumor suggested an iPad 3 launch in February and that it will indeed support double the resolution of the current screen. We also heard that the next gen iPad will be thicker and will support smart cover as well.

Digitimes brought us yet another iPad 3 rumor today claiming that the device will see day light in the next 3 or 4 months. DigiTimes claims that Apple’s suppliers are slowing the iPad 2 production and directing their undivided attention to the new device.
OEM production of iPad 2 will remain high at 14-15 million units in the fourth quarter of 2011 but decline to 4-5 million units in the first quarter of 2012, paving the way for the launch of the new iPads, the sources noted.
The 4 or 5 months release date is quite possible if we follow Apple’s calendar.
As you know, the new device is expected to support Dual LED light bars spiking the screen’s resolution by this to double that of the iPad 2. This enhancement will push the company to increase the price to cover that of the new Retina Display. We are also expecting an increase in horsepower and a new industrial design.

How To Downgrade iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 4.3.3 For Untethered Jailbreak

I am waiting for an untethered jailbreak at this moment. Here’s that option to downgrade back to iOS 4.3.3 once again.

Make your mind to assume you saved your SHSH Blobs for the last firmware susceptible to an untethered jailbreak, you would follow this very video tutorial and downgrade to iOS 4.3.3 in about 10-15 minutes. Showing you how, step-by-step.

How To Downgrade iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 4.3.3

Note: Be sure you already having SHSH blobs saved for iOS 4.3.3. This useses the latest version of Redsn0w 0.9.9b8, iTunes and TinyUmbrella. You can get the iOS 4.3.3 or very older version firmware by downloading.

Step 1: First put your device into DFU mode.

Step 2: Verify that your Hosts file is devoid of any Apple references:
* Windows users: Windows > System 32 > drivers > etc
* Mac Users : etc

Open hosts file with the text editor then add the following code to the end of the file : gs.apple.com

Step 3: Open RedSn0w > Go to Extras > Click PwnedDFU. Your screen should remain black on your iDevice.

Step 4: Open TinyUmbrella, click Start TSS Server

Step 5: Open iTunes hold Option+Restore (Shift+Restore in Windows) and select the iOS 4.3.3 Firmware.

Step 6: Receiving an error (1), just close the iTunes out.

Step 7: In TinyUmbrella click Advanced and uncheck “Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit…” Close TinyUmbrella.

Step 8: Open RedSn0w > Go to Extras > Click Recovery fix. You’ll see the device screen should look as if it is jailbroken. It should now go blank to a solid black screen.

Step 9: Open RedSn0w > Go to Extras > Click Just boot. Your device will now boot and you should see the Pwnapple logo. Your device should now be successfully back on iOS 4.3.3

Step 10: Now open iTunes to activate your device.
Congratulations, you have successfully downgrade iOS 5.0.1 to the older version of iOS 4.3.3 to make an untethered jailbreak right now. Or you can follow the video tutorial from here:

This article will guide you to downgrade iOS 5.0.1 to a lower version.

Downgrade 5.0.1 To 4.3.3 – 4.3.5 – 5.0

If you don’t have SHSH saved for your versions then there is no use of reading this article as the downgrade is only possible if you have SHSH saved for the particular version. The saved SHSH versions can be checked out by opening Cydia and checking on top.

Redsn0w will be able save iOS5 SHSH Blobs!!

Update: straight from the next version of Redsn0w jailbreak tool will be able to use iOS 5 SHSH blobs. Full Step-by-step guide available here soon.
From the MuscleNerd, iPhone hacker and member of iPhone Dev Team in the form of multiple updates sent out from his Twitter account in which he talks about an upcoming version of Redsn0w which will be able to use iOS 5 SHSH blobs.
Actually, SHSH blobs (Signature HaSH blobs) were developed by Apple itself to prevent iOS device users from downgrading to older version of iOS. These blobs hold information about which version of iOS users can restore to and which they can’t. Once Apple stops signing a firmware, it then becomes impossible to restore to it (downgrade) unless, of cource, you already saved the SHSH blobs for that firmware before Apple stopped signing it.
iFaith was one starting from iOS 5 could be used to downgrade devices on iOS 5.x, but once Redsn0w’s new version released, that won’t be difficult anymore.
From Twitter (1) (2):

Upcoming redsn0w release makes both TinyUmbrella and Cydia blob saves useful for 5.0+ (1st verifies, then stitches)
For time being, please just use most recent TU to save 5.0.1 blobs+APTicket…redsn0w will do the rest, should you need to restore.
MuscleNerd suggests using the latest version of TinyUmbrella to save iOS 5.0.1 blobs along with APTicket. If you need those to downgrade, you can do it later on with the new Redsn0w version of downgrading tool. MuscleNerd tweeted that an upcoming release will make both Cydia blob and TinyUmbrella blob saves useful for iOS 5.0. This is going to benefit downgraders.
However we didn’t have any confirmed details on the release date for this new version of Redsn0w, but it will be released soon. Stay tuned to iHack Plus so that we can keep you updated of whenever the latest release version of Redsn0w rolls out to download.
Yesterday, the Chronic Dev Team member and popular iPhone hacker released a demo video of the hotly anticipated untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 by the exploit discovered pod2g. We are not sure when he release it and don’t know about the jailbreak will be working with iOS 5.0.1 untethered, other than the fact that it is currently for iOS 5.0 only (iOS 5.0.1 version still being worked on) and that it works, at least, on the iPod Touch. No jailbreaker is working on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreaking solution, which are yet to receive any form of Jailbreak on iOS 5.

iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak Demoed On Video by Chronic Dev Team

If you are waiting like other jailbreaking entusiasts have been for has means almost arrived! here’s the video which has been uploaded by the well-known iPhone hacker and member of jailbreak community and it gives us the first look at the Untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. Get detailed info (video) after the break.

Most popular iOS hacker pod2g and discoverer of exploits – in the form of an update sent out from his Twitter account which links to an embedded YouTube video in which untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 is showcased.
Po2g is not only an iPhone hacker but also a well known member of Chronic Dev Team, today uploaded a video showing iOS 5 untethered jailbreak in action. Pod2g also showed his new discovered jailbreak exploit on his own iPod touch.
We have got no full details at all about this untethered jailbreak other than that infact that, well, it works on iOS 5 sucessfully (not on iOS 5.0.1 as yet) on an iPod touch. We’re not sure it will working on other, as of yet non-jailbroken devices like the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S but we wil, of cource, update you is we receive any relevant information.
As we all know that Pod2g announced that he has found a bug in the software that can untether iOS 5. After few days that, a very dangerous flaw in the security system for iOS was discovered by security researcher Charlie Miller which allowed any app to be remotely download and execute malicious, system-level code on an iPhone.
So, Apple to fix that security found by Miller has released iOS 5.0.1. Pod2g faily adviced iPhone users who rely on jailbreak to stay away from the 5.0.1 iOS update since the flaw makes iOS 5 jailbreak “severely easier”.
While Pod2g haven’t mentioned which exploit thius untethered jailbreak using, but this may just have something to do with a certain, bug he found on November 7th which he claimed could make untethered iOS 5.
This will change the world of Apple iOS users with the greatest benefit of an untethered jailbreak over a tethered one is that users can now restart their iOS devices into jailbroken state without having to connect to a PC. Until the Untethered jailbreak is released, enthusiasts will have to make do with Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze. After that to make Semi-untethered, you should surely install the SemiTether package which allows you to reboot your device with limited functionality until can get access to a PC.
Here’s the catch – The video has been removed by the user and no one can be able to watch it right now. The reason may be the copyright issue from the Goog’s YouTube terms and condition, but there’s still there as the tweet on pod2g’s.

The video uploaded by pod2g has been embedded below for your viewing pleasure
We already mentioned that we have no hard deatils about how the jailbreak works and when it will be released, so, please be patient!
There’s currently no ETA for the jailbreak. Stay tuned, we’ll be back once we get a release date or download links. Besides this, stay away from iOS 5.0.1 if you plan on untethered-jailbreaking your iOS device.

Try Windows Phone 7.x Mango On Your iPhone and Android Right Now!

Recently a new Windows Phone platform was out and been very popular running on several handsets with the ability to integrate completely with an exchange account, an amazing turn-by-turn navigation app and a beautiful WVGA screen. With several other features aimed at entertainment such as Xbox LIVE compatibility and what’s called Live Tiles.

Microsoft sent out a tweet from their @windowsphone twitter account linking to a Windows Phone demo you can access from your phone’s browser. Aimed at Apple and Android OS users:
Got a friend with an #iPhone or #Android? Now there’s a #WindowsPhone demo they can try on their mobile browser. http://t.co/tSAVz8x4
This link might work for those who are reading the article through PC or a Mac but its highly advised that you come back with your handset (mobile phone) and click the following link to check this demo: http://aka.ms/wpdemo. The semi-guided tour can be accessed by visiting http://aka.ms/wpdemo with your phone’s browser. The HTML5-based site mimics the look and feel of Windows Phone on your device. Once started, you can select multiple different demos including People, Family, Pictures, Local Scout, Calendar, Outlook, Messaging and Phone.

It’s a clever marketing stratagy, we would be surpriced if Apple and Android followed suite with their own demos in the future. Here’s what Microsoft has given you the chance to check out their Windows Phone platform without leaving your home. But, it’s not fully functional demo, however it may be enough to push you to head to a store to try the real one.
Many have tried Windows Phone platform on their handsets like iPhone 4 and the Android phones, the demo is pretty limited, but it works, and very smoothly you might add. You don’t have access to all Windows Phone features, since it gives you a general feel of joy.
When you try it on iPhone 4. It’s not full screen demo, at least not on your phone. You still see your Safari bar below and strandard bar above, yet you’ll be impressed. The demo allows you to go through the different Windows screens and navigation through their phone, email, text and aclendar tiles. When you reach the end of path, you’ll be seen the option of exiting the demo or starting over.

Sorry! the link won’t work from your computer browser for some (but it works on Chrome from Windows). You’ll be receiving an error screen to try the link from a different device. You may see the same screen from an unsupported mobile browser as well.
If you are one of them who are thinking to drop your iPhone or Android phone for a Windows Phone, this might be to push you need to make a call.

Install CyanogenMod 9 Alpha 11 Android 4.0 ICS on Nexus S and Galaxy S [How To Guide]

If you are using the Nexus S by Samsung, luckily you have access to the newest Android OS (Ice Cream Sandwich) way or the other. Here’s CynongenMod 9, you’ll be able to get an early preview on your devices right now. The newest alpha is by no means the last but it runs smoother and faster than its built.

Already the beta version of CM9 for Galaxy S users was out, which seems to be fully functional. But with reports against that the software completely wipes out the users’ SD card. We won’t be able to advice it until that option is cleared.
The new build having few fixes includes adding missing dictionaries and removing duplicate keyboards. The build is ready for daily use and adds Google Wallet Support for your device.
DISCLAIMER: Grabi is not responsible for any loss of data as a result of the malfunctioning of your smartphone in the follwoing of this guide.
In order to get started you need to download the following:
*Download CyanogenMod 9 Alpha build
* Google Apps Add-on
From this thread you can get the above files.

Step 1: Make sure you’ll already be running an earlier version of CyanogenMod. If yes, then skip to Step 3. If not, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Root your Nexus S or Galaxy S, you might have to Google around for the latter. It’s an easy task but with quite a few steps. When your devices are rooted, return to the guide.

Step 3: Make sure ROM Manager is installed then open it on your device.Verify that ‘ClockworkMod Recovery’ has the latest version installed.

Step 4: Simply Back up your data. While still in ROM Manager, scroll down and select “Backup Current ROM”. Once completed the backup can be found in your SD card under ‘clockworkmod’ directory. Better to transfer this backed up data to your computer in case you need to restore it to an earlier state.

Step 5: Install ICS by selecting “Install ROM from SD Card” in the ROM Manager menu.

Step 6: Now, Select “Wipe Data and Cache”.

Step 7: Select “Wipe Dalvik Cache”.
Step 8: You’ll have to repeat the Steps 3 to 7, but this time with the Google Add-on files.
You phone will now automatically restart,. After it reboots, you’ll be welcomed by the Ice Cream Sandwich set up screen. Keep in mind, since this particular build is re-rooted, you’ll have to restore from backup if you are wishing to revert to the Gingerbread version. Currently, the build seems to be working perfectly

Apple’s iPhone 4S Siri Can Work With Your Cars Bluetooth (Video)

Know more about the awesome feature of Siri on iPhone 4S, Siri will work with the Bluetooth in your Car and can also be used to set the reminders if you want and basically you can normally do with Siri through your cars hands-free kit.

The video below shows on how you can connect Siri with a Bluetooth hands-free kit in the Car, which was tested by Autoblog members with a number of different hands free systems.
Naturally you’ll still have to press the home button on Siri to get it to work with your Car’s Bluetooth kit, which may not advisable when you are driving, if Apple develops it so it works completely hands free in your car in the coming future. Now you can easily use Siri with your  Bluetooth in your car and listen music by commanding it.

TinyUmbrella 5.10.00 Released For iOS 5.1 Beta 1 SHSH Blob Saving Support

TinyUmbrella was recently updated to version 5.10.00 for iOS 5.1 Beta 1 SHSH blob saving support. This means that you can now save your SHSH Blobs on the iOS 5.1 Beta 1 firmware using TinyUmbrella 5.10.00. It is important to keep in mind, however, that while you can save SHSH blobs on the iOS 5.1 Beta 1 firmware, it is not yet possible to downgrade your iDevice running any version of the iOS 5.0 firmware. You are probably asking yourself why was TinyUmbrella even updated then? Well, the reason you still want to save your SHSH blobs is very simple and obvious –  if a solution is found to downgrading on the iOS 5.0 firmware generation, you will need iOS 5.0 SHSH blobs to take advantage of it.
The developer of TinyUmbrella, @Notcom notes:
Before you ask; Yes a solution for the 5.x firmware nonce is being investigated… None of us have a working solution yet though. Hang tight.
I have a couple trails and ideas I am trying out for 4.x baseband based restores to avoid 10xx errors. Until then save your signatures as you will never know when they may come in handy…
Another interesting update coming from Notcom is a status report on TinyPwn, which is an upcoming Jailbreaking tool.
TinyPwn update: I’ve not had much time in the past month to work on this. Real life drama, work, etc have taken much of my time. I still intend on a release… eventually… :P Effectively it’ll just have to be done when it’s done…
If you would like to download TinyUmbrella 5.10.00 you can do so by clicking one of the download links below :

iOS 5.0.1 can be Jailbroken Using Redsn0w 0.9.9b8

Apple earlier today released iOS 5.0.1 to the public for all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. Just like previous releases – iOS 5.0.1 can be jailbroken using the latest version of the iPhone Dev Team’s tool, redsn0w.

Jailbreak 5.0.1
The new software, iOS 5.0.1, can be jailbroken using redsn0w 0.9.9b8 and the SemiTether tool can be used on iOS 5.0.1 to bring semi-tethered jailbreak.
Supported devices for the below guide:
  • iPhone 4 (semi untethered)
  • iPhone 3GS new bootrom (semi untethered)
  • iPhone 3GS old bootrom (untethered)
  • iPod touch 4G (semi untethered)
  • iPod touch 3G (semi untethered)
  • iPad 1 (semi untethered)
Of course the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S jailbreaks are not yet available. If you’re looking forward to fast & future jailbreak, better not upgrade to iOS 5.0.1.

Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Semi Untethered:

STEP 1: Download iTunes 10.5 and iOS 5.0.1 final version.
STEP 2: Backup your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and restore it using the iOS 5.0.1 IPSW file downloaded from the first step.
STEP 3: Download Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 for Windows or Mac OS X from here.
STEP 4: Open Redsn0w and select “Extras” then “Select IPSW” and browse for the iOS 5.0 IPSW file (download here).

STEP 5: Now click on “Jailbreak” then “Install Cydia”. You’ll need to follow the on-screen instructions to get your device into DFU mode.

STEP 6: Once jailbroken, your device will be rebooted.
STEP 7: Now open Redsn0w again and hit “Extras” then “Just Boot”.

STEP 8: Now head to Cydia then search for “SemiTether” and install the tool:
NOTE: The last step about SemiTether is optional for users. It will allow you to reboot your device without need to a computer to connect to. You’ll lose some functions like opening mail and almost all jailbreak tweaks.
